Scot, Did you not miss the technical content, though? I was looking at the podcasts feed from last year and there are so many technical presentations that had great take-aways: typography, JavaScript, Rails, Accessibility, Ajax v. Accessibility, XSLT is Sexy — I thought that was really missing this year. C|Net was also right, there was a pronounced shift to the population of those chasing the "it" that wasn't seen in years previous. I tried to capture some of my feeling about at my suggestions for SXSW2009

Lol – I was that Opera Engineer (Re: spit of Neil from the Young Ones). Although, as we discussed at the time, it isn’t the first time that comparison has been made!

Erp! It was Ruby’s, not Rudy’s. Corrected, thanks. And yes, the brisket was indeed mean. Did try Stubb’s, but it was completely mezzo-mezzo, nothing to write home about. The company was good though :)

Given the direction that he was walking in (north on Guadalupe) and the description of the building, it is most likely Ruby's BBQ. I had forgotten about Ruby's when we were talking about BBQ places (or perhaps I did the BD mistake in my head, too). They do have mean brisket. I should go there more often given their close proximity to where I work.

Rudy’s (the chain BBQ restaurant) or Ruby’s (with a ‘B’, over on Guadalupe just north of the UT campus) ? If it was RuDy’s, I’m afraid I’m going to have to question your taste, sir ;)

Oh it’s not bad, but you were in Austin for cripe’s sake! (BTW, just so you know – for someone who grew up in Central Texas, arguing about who makes the best BBQ is like a Frenchman arguing about wine ;) Bet you enjoyed, Stubb’s too.
